Club Cafe Paradou is keen to explore, and have an impressive range of rides used on club runs.
Toys Hill – a solid tester just south of the North Downs ridge, with smooth tarmac for 3.16 Km, rising 151 m, offering the rider a decent test especially on the steeper segments, and disorienting with several false flats. Club record 8.17 – BE.
Knatt’s Valley – A hidden beauty for any rider with a nose for the road less travelled to the east of the M25. A solid 6.75 Km, 105 m height gain heading into deserted fields surrounded by hills, before climbing up to the golf club at the end of the road. Club record 15.42 – JC

Barely a climb most of the way.
Open valley, no cars.
Good for groups.
Col du Bailie – A gem in the East, far beyond where London based riders venture. A picturesque 1.77 Km climb through orchards past flint farmhouses with view over the Kent Weald rising 95m. Club record – 5.42 – JR

The club segment continues beyond the strava one, round a hairpin to the left.
Image from google as by this time both hands are holding on and you are pretty focussed.
The Girl’s School – at 4.2 Km and climbing just 92m, this road is less challenging than avoiding in the 4x4s dropping children off at the school. But what a great way to get out of the city and into the hills. The road is in three sections, the first is viaduct to bridge, then a wide open section to the school, then finally beyond the school, with playing fields. Club record – 9.20 – JR

So much better than the main road.
The middle section up to the school.
Glebe Way, West Wickham – 500 metres, 12 m height gain doesn’t sound like a challenge, but as a sprint at the end of a ride, its tough to get under 60 sec. Club record – 46s – BF.

From this roundabout, absolutely melt it as far and fast as you can up the straight incline beyond.
No hidden surprises.
